ChronoTrails

The ChronoTrails project is a cutting-edge venture that merges the latest in world and hand tracking technologies with immersive storytelling, creating a novel way to experience time travel through technology. At its heart lies our Minimum Viable Product (MVP) which introduces users to this journey with a simple, yet powerful interface: a virtual cube. Once interacted with, this cube summons the ChronoNavigator, a wearable virtual device designed to transport users across various historical periods through intuitive hand gestures.

Our project stands out by integrating real-world exploration with a rich virtual narrative, guiding users through a tapestry of historical moments, art, food, and music. This journey is augmented by audio zones, custom Spotify playlists, and Points of Interest (POIs), all curated to enrich the user's understanding and appreciation of diverse cultural heritages.

Key to this immersive experience is our use of Visual Positioning System (VPS) technology, which ensures precise navigation and interaction within the virtual world, tightly coupled with the user's physical environment. Future developments aim to incorporate advanced AI to deepen the immersion, making each journey through time a unique, personalized adventure.
